Get ready! It might be winter up north, but down south it's heating up with the TF2 Summer Brawl! Seven teams from across the land down under are heading to the sunshine state of Australia for a one-day brawl! Only one team can claim the summer cup! Who will it be?


Tickets might be sold out, but you can still watch all the action on CappingTV's Twitch channel! The event will start Saturday at 12pm AEST / 3am CET / 9pm ET (Friday). You can also head over to the event website to keep up-to-date with all the happenings!

An update to Team Fortress 2 has been released. The update will be applied automatically when you restart Team Fortress 2. The major changes include:

  • Fixed a memory leak when firing syringes as Medic
  • Fixed some instances of syringes being invisible around corners and in transitions between water and air (both directions)
  • Fixed syringes triggering false hits on the client when minimal view models are enabled or a custom view model FOV is set
  • Fixed The Original using the default reload sound instead of the intended sound
  • Fixed entities being considered static props after long server times
    • Fixed Mann vs. Machine bots failing to spawn
    • Fixed rockets occasionally being solid
  • Updated the equip_region settings for The Onimann and the Cranial Cowl
  • Updated cp_frostwatch
    • Fixed being able to stand in the cliff wall near control point 2 in stage 1
  • Expanded VScript support
    • Fixed .nut files being valid files for download/upload
    • Fixed clients being able to run certain script_* debug commands on the server
    • Added EmitSoundEx
    • Fixed crashes related to null strings being passed to functions

Collegiate TF2 (CTF2) is announcing their upcoming Spring 2023 6v6 League where college students form teams with players from their same collegiate student body to compete against other schools!


CTF2 offers players of any skill level the chance to team up with their peers and compete, with no competitive experience required. From seasoned competitive players to newcomers, all are welcome to compete for their school.


The registration for the Spring Season will be open from January 2nd to February 7th. The season will have teams playing one match per week from February 8th to March 29th, with playoffs in April (TBD based off of the number of teams).


If you're not interested in competing, CTF2 will have other opportunities to be involved through casting matches, production, and general league organization.

An update to Team Fortress 2 has been released. The update will be applied automatically when you restart Team Fortress 2. The major changes include:

  • Fixed a server crash related to the Spy sapping buildings
  • Fixed the Battle Bear not using the correct skin for team BLU
  • Fixed a materials problem with the Taunt: Tailored Terminal
  • Fixed missing sounds and smoothed the loop point for the Taunt: Roasty Toasty
  • Updated ctf_frosty to fix various exploits
  • Updated pl_rumford_event to fix missing models/materials

TFConnect returns this weekend, December 10th - 11th! The team is broadcasting, live and in person, from a studio in snowy Sweden!


Since 2018, TFConnect has raised over $50,000 for charities including this yearâs cause, SpecialEffect. This charity has a profoundly positive impact on quality of life, confidence and rehabilitation of disabled gamers. This year TFConnect has stepped up to bring streamers together in Sweden for in-person DnD, board games, cooking, painting and gaming. Participating online are some big personalities, voice actors and content creators. You can join in on the giving as donations are open now, and maybe win some special TF2 goodies.


The event will be streamed live on KritzKastâs Twitch channel, and you can keep up to date with the team by following TFConnect and KritzKast on Twitter.

  • Implemented VScript
    • VScript allows mappers to embed script code (Squirrel3) into maps. This system is already being used for L4D2 and CS:GO maps.
      • Interface with entities and the world like regular Hammer logic
      • Simplify things that were previously incredibly complicated/tedious in Hammer logic
      • Interact with and control bots, bosses, player attributes, entities, and game state closely, allowing for enhanced, modified or entirely custom game modes
      • React to game events and change the outcome of certain things, such as damage calculations

TF2 Coaching Central is announcing their third North American Newbie Cup, a learning experience and friendly competition for people who are new to competitive 6v6.


Players with no to minimal competitive experience will sign up to be placed on a team of six, led by a coach who will teach the basics of how to play the 6v6 format and help you learn the maps. You'll have three weeks to learn and practice together as a team, before facing off in a round robin style tournament with a prize for the winning team. Several former Newbie Cup alumni have gone on to play in RGL, the biggest North American competitive TF2 league.


Sign-ups are open now, and the deadline to apply and be placed on a team is November 23. Team and coach assignments will be made by November 25 and tournament matches will be the weekend of December 17-18.

They've selected the best of the best submissions and gathered them together into a new collection for you to feast your eyes on! There are weapons, war paints, and some cosmetics that are straight GORE!
